Spectre Lab

by Martina Stella

Spectre Lab was born in 2014 from the association of Marc Vidal, Jérôme Sérane and Philippe Granier. With a background of 25 years of experience in art direction and motion design, the studio has been working on large-scale projects since its creation.

The studio's activity is very varied and its portfolio offers an exemplary perspective on the different environments in which mapping can intervene: fashion shows, ephemeral scenography, events, heritage promotion, international festivals. The fashion shows and product launches for houses such as Balmain and Louis Vuitton are followed by architectural projections on historical buildings such as the Arc de Triomphe (in 2015 and 2019), the Vendôme Column on the homonymous square in 2016, the Japonismes show on the Eiffel Tower in 2018, or Chroma for the 800th anniversary of the Amiens Cathedral.

The studio then specializes in immersive environments and works for the Atelier des Lumières, in Paris, in the conception of Destination Cosmos for the Immersive Art Festival, as well as Last Sentinels on the work of photographer Jimmy Nelson or the most recent creation Tintin, the immersive adventure in 2022.
The studio develops custom creations for Culturespaces immersive spaces in France and abroad: Paris, Bordeaux, New York. Spectre Lab is also active in international events and participated in the Glow festival in San Francisco, as well as the Bright Festival in Leipzig, Germany, with the Soft shadows mapping, in 2022.
