Philip Schambelan

The artist collective ruestungsschmie.de is a network of architects, artists, media designers, sound designers, technicians, and out-of-the-box thinkers, founded by Philip Modest Schambelan and Michal Banisch. Their work focuses on different projection, video, 3D mappings, 2D and 3D animations, digital art installations, and other audiovisual projects. They have over 10 years of experience in award-winning audiovisual media.

Their artistic approach:
They are always curious about new approaches and technologies, aiming to redefine rules of perception and looking for new ways of understanding things . They work with lights, projectors, screens, LED facades, interactive installations and devices, VR and AR, 2D and 3D animation, 360°-Video, and sound.  They aim to create something new, something no one has ever seen before, something with a strong idea and unique emotions.

As for their awards and recognitions, they have won a ton of awards for their designs and audiovisual works1. They were finalists in 2022 at the Video Mapping Festival in Lille, France1. They also had a notable presence at the Schlosslichtspiele Karlsruhe, where their work “Changes3” was featured.
